What The Copa Star Is All About

The newest building on Copa Cabana beach is not a luxury hotel, though it is very luxurious. Nor is it a casino. Nor is it a high rise luxury department store.

It is the Copa Star, a luxury hospital. It opened in October of 2016.

It took three years of construction and new construction techniques to build this seven-story luxury hospital. It is built of concrete, glass, and steel. However, it used some different types of concrete in its construction, and it was built to be energy-efficient. It uses about half of what a comparable hospital would use built in the standard way.

it does not appear to be a hospital at first glance. If you take a look at the lobby upon entrance, you will find very comfortable, luxurious sofas and chairs. There is a grand piano in the lobby. It also features artwork by the world-renowned Yakuta Toyota. Mr. Toyota’s artwork is presented throughout the hospital.

Unifying sophisticated technology with luxurious accommodations was the brainchild of the president of Rede D’Or São Luiz, or simply, D’or. Jorge Moll envisioned a hospital that treats the patient, not as a sick patient, but as a specially invited guest. And the patients’ guests are treated as guests as well, when you consider the restaurant in the hospital. It was designed by a world-renowned chef.

The patients’ rooms are not sterile bland rooms, either. They are luxury suites. Through using an Ipad, the patient can control the drapes, the lighting, and even the air conditioning. The patient can summon the staff through the use of this Ipad. They can talk with the nurses. They can contact the doctor and discuss the latest results of tests. The doctor can show the results of those tests on the Ipad.

The doctors all have access to the many operating rooms and test rooms in the Copa Star. Featuring the latest, most sophisticated robot technology, the operating rooms garner attention as state of the art. The test rooms are adjacent to the operating rooms, giving the surgeons much needed access to important results of their operations.

With all of this latest technology and robot equipment available, it is plain for the layman to guess that the Copa Star is going to specialize in cardiology and neurology.

What is unique about the intensive care units is that they are all fitted with large video screens. The screens are controlled by the patients so that they can view the outside. They can view the hospital corridors, the street below, or scenes at the beach. This is to make the intensive care experience more open and free. It is a way to combat the loneliness of being in and intensive care situation.

D’Or is hoping to open new hospitals like the Copa Star, particularly in Sao Paulo and Brasilia. Read more at Scoopnest.com about Copa Star.
